Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how pdfheromd.com (“MD→PDF”, “we”, “the site”) handles information when you use our Markdown-to-PDF tool and read our guides. We've tried to keep it plain and honest. If anything is unclear, contact us.
The short version
The conversion tool runs entirely in your browser. When you paste Markdown or open a .md file, that content is processed on your own device and is never uploaded to us or stored on any server. We don't have a database of your documents, because your documents never reach us.
Information we do not collect
- The text or files you convert. These stay on your device.
- Account information. There is no sign-up and no login.
- Names, email addresses, or payment details entered into the tool — because the tool doesn't ask for any.
Information that is collected automatically
Like almost every website, some technical information is recorded when you visit, so the site can run and we can understand roughly how it's used:
- Server and analytics logs. Our host (Cloudflare) records standard request data such as your IP address, browser type, referring page, and the time of the request. This is used for security, performance, and aggregate traffic statistics.
- Local storage. The tool may store a small flag in your browser's local storage — for example, to remember that you've turned off ads. This never leaves your browser and is not sent to us.
Cookies and web beacons
A cookie is a small file a website (or its partners) stores in your browser. We use cookies mainly through the third-party services below (advertising and, where enabled, analytics). You can set your browser to refuse cookies or to alert you when cookies are being sent; some parts of third-party services may not function as intended if you disable them.
Google AdSense and third-party advertising
This site is supported by advertising served through Google AdSense. To show relevant ads and measure their performance, Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies. Specifically:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- Some third-party vendors may also use cookies or web beacons in the ads and links that appear on this site.
You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of many third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info/choices. For more on how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see Google's Privacy & Terms.
Users in the EEA, UK, and California
Where required, advertising partners obtain consent for the use of cookies for personalized advertising, and you may withdraw that consent at any time through the settings links above. Under laws such as the GDPR and CCPA, you have rights over personal data relating to you, including the right to access or request deletion. Because we don't hold accounts or your document contents, most such requests will concern server-log data held by our host; contact us and we'll help where we can.
Children
This site is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Links to other sites
Our guides sometimes link to other websites (for example, the Pandoc project). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites; please review their own policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date.
